Private Home In Connecticut
Oh, babes, do I have a treat for you! Picture this: an August wedding in idyllic Connecticut, shot on 16mm film and super 8 videography. Sounds dreamy, right? Well, cue Carina and Luke, the stars of our love-filled show, who sought us out for their full film wedding experience, craving that nostalgic touch of Super 8 and 16mm magic. Luckily for them, a full film wedding, plus Super 8 is our specialty. Javi and I were so excited to document their micro wedding and all the special details in between for them!
The Unique Love Story
So, Carina and Luke’s love story? It’s straight out of a romance film. Imagine meeting in Iceland during their master’s program, under the awe-inspiring northern lights and taking dips in crystal-clear waters. My jaw was on the floor as they were telling me their story of meeting and dating. Trust me, their love story was made for the big screen!
Beyond being lovebirds, Carina and Luke are incredible scientists who harness the power of film to document their work out in nature. Talk about a match made in artistic heaven, right?
Setting The Stage On Film
Now, let’s set the scene: a family lake house dripping with charm. Bee motifs galore, paying homage to Carina’s grandmother’s love for bees. This intimate setting was lovingly preserved by Carina’s grandfather, who graciously hosted their micro wedding because, well. They let us know it wouldn’t have felt right to have their wedding day anywhere else.
The guest list? Oh, just Luke’s lovely family all the way from Canada and their dear friend Sydney, who flew in to officiate and sprinkle some extra love on their special day.
Making The Day Their Own
Carina and Luke wanted their wedding to shout ‘us’ from every corner. They kicked things off with private vows, a refreshing swim in the lake, and a peaceful row around the sunny lake. Luke kept it cool with minimal getting-ready fuss, opting for a boat adventure and paddleboarding with his loved ones. Meanwhile, Carina had her own sweet getting-ready ritual at a local hair salon, surrounded by her sister, her makeup artist, the mama bear, and her bestie.
The Film Wedding Experience – 16MM Motion Picture
And let’s not forget the star of the show: film wedding photography and motion picture magic! Super 8 and 16mm added that timeless, nostalgic touch to their already cinematic love story. From capturing the intimate moments to the grand gestures, these film formats brought an extra layer of depth and emotion to every frame.
Super 8 Wedding Videography
Javi and I believe Super 8 is the most sincere and genuine format to document your love. Trust us when we say that there is nothing more authentic than film. There’s just something about it that truly captures true unfiltered emotion. Just what Carina and Luke were looking for when they hired us. The director’s cut offers an intimate look into their love story, while the social media highlight is a perfect teaser for friends and family to relive the day.
