Private Estate
Do you guys remember Nathaly and Jackson from their creative film engagement session? Well, today we are finally sharing all the gorgeous details of their wedding this past August! Nathaly and Jackson, our DIY king and queen, outdid themselves with all the insanely beautiful things they created for their wedding day (more on that soon)! Nathaly and Jackson wanted their wedding day captured in a documentary style completely on film and you know we delivered. Let’s dive into this DIY backyard wedding, shall we?
Family & Friends Bringing The Vision To Life
Now, let me introduce you to Nathaly, the creative genius behind it all. She had a vision and her fiance’ and community helped her bring it to life. It was a huge team effort getting their friends and family involved in the process! They poured their heart and soul into crafting the most exquisite details for their special day. From handmade paper for the wedding stationary (YES, HANDMADE PAPER!!) to delicate flower crowns and mesmerizing florals, every element was a labor of love. Nathaly and her partner in crime thrift’d all the glasses for their wedding guests, and here’s the cherry on top–the guests got to take these glasses home as a thank you gift.
The DIY Decor Wonderland
In all my years behind the lens, I can confidently say that this was the best DIY wedding I’ve ever laid my eyes upon. Nathaly’s talent and craft shone through, bringing her vision to life in the most breathtaking way. She truly is a creative force to be reckoned with.
Wedding Day Polaroids
Our new obsession over here is getting wedding day polaroids! It’s such a nostalgic touch we love to offer to our couples, so in between shooting your film we are snapping those polaroids too.
About Jackson & Nathaly
Nathaly told us about the moment she met Jackson on the T to the North End. His compassionate nature, his genuine humor, and the effortless comfort immediately struck her as he exuded.
Jackson recalls his first impression of Nathaly, a moment that she might not even remember. It was during pre semester, and there she was in the cafeteria, sporting heart-shaped sunglasses and pouring her heart into artwork for a show. Jackson couldn’t help but be captivated by her style, her personality, and, yes, those adorable glasses.
Fast forward to their favorite memories together. A boat cruise where they shared their first dance, a bit wacky but undeniably awesome. A weekend getaway to Maine, where they braved the snow-covered trails hand in hand. And let’s not forget their first year together, spent at a quaint inn in Cape Cod, exploring the winding roads on their bikes.
Documentary Style Wedding Photography
I mentioned that Nathaly and Jackson requested a documentary-style approach to their film photos. So what’s the difference between traditional and documentary-style wedding photography? Traditional wedding photography is posed and polished. Think of those perfectly arranged group shots and romantic poses your parents have in their wedding album.
On the flip side, documentary-style wedding photography is raw and unfiltered. It’s all about capturing those genuine, heartfelt moments—the laughs, the tears, the unexpected glances in between. No stiff poses or forced smiles here; just you being your authentic selves, capturing photographs you will look back on and remember the feelings you had that day.
