East Greenwich, Rhode Island
Let us tell you about a recent engagement session we had at a private family estate in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. The estate was absolutely stunning, with open fields that seemed to stretch on and on, and large windows that let the warm sunlight pour in. The whole place had such a Pride and Prejudice vibe that we couldn’t help but fall in love with it.
Paige and Quentin’s engagement session was initially postponed by rain, but we didn’t let that dampen our spirits. We decided to embrace the weather and just do it anyways, and boy are we glad we did. The rain ended up working in our favor, and we got to frolic in the fields under the most beautiful lighting.
Paige + Quentin
Paige and Quentin are both foodies, and we initially planned to do a restaurant crawl through Newport for their session. Paige really wanted to make a cheese board for the session and it was beautiful. She’s such a foodie in fact that she even has a foodie Instagram account, you have to go give her a follow @shelobs_dinner! But when Paige mentioned a private family estate, we were intrigued. And let us tell you, we were not disappointed. The space was one-of-a-kind and perfect for them. We laughed a lot and had the best time capturing their unique love story. They are getting married at Roger Williams Botanical Gardens in January of 2024 and we already know it’s going to be so magical, it’s by far one of our favorite venues we are shooting at next year!
The Estate’s Charm and Vibes
Picture this: open fields stretching as far as the eye can see, bathing in the warm glow of sunlight pouring through large windows. Can you feel the romance in the air? It’s like stepping into your very own Pride and Prejudice fairytale. The estate is a family home owned by Q’s grandfather, a former US senator. The house is steeped in history and boasts some of the largest windows we’ve ever seen in a residential space. Even though it was hot and muggy that day, we didn’t let that stop us from capturing some stunning shots.
Engagement Photos On Film
And the photos we got? Pure magic. The natural beauty of the estate mixed with the love and excitement of Paige and Quentin made for some truly breathtaking moments that we were honored to capture. But what really added to the overall vibe of the session was the film photography we used. There’s just something about film that adds an extra layer of romance to the photos, a sense that they’ll stand the test of time. I just could not get Pride and Prejudice out of my head as we shot all day!
The Power of Film Photography
Now, let’s dive into the power of film photography. It’s like stepping into a time machine, transporting you back to those unforgettable moments. Film photos have a certain charm and timelessness that digital just can’t replicate. And guess what? They perfectly complement the Pride and Prejudice vibes of the estate. It’s like the stars aligning to create pure magic.
We shot their session on Portra 400 for color and CineStill Film BWXX Black and White 120, capturing their story in all its glory. We’re anti-cliché and all about authenticity, and we’re so glad that Paige and Quentin’s engagement session was just that – authentic, timeless, and full of laughter.
