For this shoot, I had the opportunity to attend a workshop in Vermont. It was such an honor to be surrounded by so much talent and creativity. Plus Winter in Vermont is a magical time of year, and when it comes to elopements, it’s a picturesque wonderland that can make your special day even more enchanting.

In this blog post, we’ll take you on a journey through a beautiful winter elopement in Moretown, VT. This unique celebration was inspired by Amber and Chris’s wedding day in Utah in February of 2022. The two share a passion for snowboarding and adventure. What makes this elopement shoot even more special is that it was beautifully captured on Super 8 film, adding an extra layer of charm to their day.

Cozy Vermont Air Bnb

To set the stage for this incredible winter elopement, we have to mention the charming Airbnb known as Lilla Rustica. Nestled in the heart of Vermont, this solar-powered retreat offers breathtaking views and warm hospitality. It provided the perfect backdrop for Amber and Chris to exchange their vows in a cozy and warm cabin in the snow. We got some super cute shots of them snuggling and getting ready to hit the slopes.

Invitation suite

Fete & Festoon created the design of the invitation suite. There was another flat lay set up but I asked to create my little layout. I was inspired by Chris’s hat and all of the greens in the sheets on the bed, so I just ran with it. For those of you who know me, you know that I adore flat lays. They are one of my favorite parts of the wedding/elopement day. Amongst all the crazy, this is a moment when I get to step back and take all of your beautiful details and just create magic. There is something to be said about the balance between composed and candid moments and I genuinely find so much joy in stitching together a beautiful landscape of your story. I see flat lays like quilts. They come together to tell a bigger story. Your story.

Makeup & Hair

Amber looked radiant for this snowy elopement, thanks to the talented hands of Brittney Eileen Beauty, a makeup artist from Tewksbury, Massachusetts. Brittney highlighted Amber’s natural beauty with her work, ensuring that she felt like the best version of herself. Meanwhile, Nomads Haircraft, led by the skilled Hilary, crafted a beautiful chunky braid for Amber, adding a touch of glitter spray to make her hair truly special. Together, they made sure Amber felt like a snow queen.

Epic Florals

The floral arrangements for this elopement were nothing short of spectacular. Amber’s epic floral snowboard was so cool to see and shoot! Nora, the creative genius behind Kingsley Floral Co. in Vermont, brought her A-game to this winter wonderland. From the elegant bouquet to the greenery adorning the railing leading up to the Airbnb, every piece was a work of art. Nora’s attention to detail and her team’s dedication added a touch of natural beauty to this already stunning setting.

Amber & Chris’s Super 8 Film
