Are you tired of seeing the same old stiff engagement photos that look like they belong in a stock image library rather than on your wall? Yeah, us too. That’s why we’re obsessed with sessions that actually feel like you. When Claudia and Jared reached out for their film engagement photos, they made one thing crystal clear: they didn’t want generic. They wanted genuine, authentic, and they wanted it all on film.

Home is Where the Heart (and the Best Photos) Are
We kicked things off right where their story lives every day: their home in Boston.
Forget about renting a studio or scouting for some “epic” location that has zero meaning to you. These two invited us into their space, and it was magic. They reminisced on old stories, pulled out old family photos, played chess, and read love letters from years past to each other.
Shooting their film engagement photos at home allowed Claudia and Jared to just… be. No awkward “what do I do with my hands?” moments. Just natural cuddles on the couch, and the kind of genuine laughter that only happens when you’re totally comfortable. It wasn’t about creating a scene; it was about capturing the one they’ve already built together.

Seventh Grade Spanish & Drive-In Makeouts: How It All Began
Alright, let’s rewind a bit. These two actually go way back. Picture seventh grade Spanish class—Claudia and Jared chatting so much that their teacher had to move them to opposite corners of the room. “We were distracting the class,” they both admit, laughing now. Jared swears he recognized the aura of Claudia even before they really spoke, but it was their mutual best friend, Travis, who set them on their course.
First “date”? That’s honestly a toss-up and a running joke between them. Technically, their parents drove them everywhere because, hello, middle schoolers. But the legendary Mendon Drive-Ins—that’s where sparks flew. It was supposed to be a big family-friend hangout (more than 20 people!), but all they cared about was being there together.
That spot became something special. Claudia and Jared have gone back through the years, sometimes sharing Thai food or sushi, watching movies like Ant-Man—though Jared denies remembering it. Mendon Drive-Ins is and always will be the place their story really started.

Every love story comes with a few life lessons. For Claudia, Jared is the anchor who keeps her grounded. She feels things deeply—constantly worrying, questioning, caring. Jared helps her step back, see things as they are, and reminds her it’s okay not to have all the answers. “He taught me how to love, how to want more for my future, and how to be better for someone besides myself,” Claudia says. He even points out her stubbornness, but always makes sure she knows what makes her special.
Flip it, and Jared will tell you being with Claudia has totally changed his perspective. She’s taught him how to live in the moment and soak it all in, to be kinder and love harder. “Claudia reminds me to cherish friends and family, to learn—meet people, get new experiences, step out of my comfort zone. She’s shown me there’s always a path forward,” he shares.

Film Engagement Photos

Why Film is a Total Vibe for Engagements
Okay, let’s geek out on film for a second. In a world where we snap a thousand iPhone pics a week, shooting on film forces you to slow down. You can’t just hold the shutter button and hope for the best. You have to be intentional.
For Claudia and Jared, that intentionality meant every click of the shutter mattered. There’s a weight to film photos that makes them feel permanent and significant. The imperfections—the grain, the slight blur, the unexpected light leaks—are features, not bugs. They add soul to the images.
The result? Film engagement photos that don’t look over-polished or plastic. They look honest. They look like memories you can actually touch. That’s exactly why we love film engagement photos over anything else.

From the Living Room to Their Favorite Park l Film Engagement Photos
After hanging out at home, we took a stroll to the Boston Public Gardens. Moving outside gave us some room to play and let that glorious natural light do its thing. Film engagement photos eat up natural light like candy.
As we wandered through the trees, the vibe shifted from cozy-intimate to playful-romantic. We caught the little things: a glance over the shoulder, wind in the hair, whispers in the ear. It didn’t feel like a film engagement photos; it felt like hanging out with friends who just happened to be incredibly photogenic.

Make Your Film Engagement Photos Yours
Here’s the deal: Your film engagement photos shouldn’t look like everyone else’s. If you’re planning your session, take a page out of Claudia and Jared’s book. Don’t worry about what’s trending on Pinterest. Focus on what matters to you. Maybe that’s cooking dinner together, hitting up your favorite dive bar, or just hanging out on your front porch.
Your love story is unique, weird, and wonderful. It deserves to be documented exactly as it is, not how someone else thinks it should look. Whether you choose film engagement photos at home or on a mountain top, make sure it feels like you. Trust us, twenty years from now, you won’t care about how perfectly your hair was styled. You’ll care about how happy you looked and how much those photos remind you of this exact season of your life.

Love From Claudia & Jared
“When two beautiful humans care for their art, the people they work with, and the process as much as Dominique and Javi do, magic happens. I have never worked with people more passionate and intentional about their work. We sat down last night to look at our final pictures and laughed, cried, and smiled so hard our faces hurt. We loved every single one of them because they were 100% authentic to who we are and reflect our love flawlessly. That’s what sets Dominique and Javi apart from other artists, they are gifted in connecting and capturing stories and love. It also helps they are the sweetest couple ever! I have nothing but the most positive things to say about them as humans and professionals. Our engagement shoot is a day we will never forget and hold close to our hearts forever. Thank you SOOO MUCH Dominique and Javi, it was an honor and pleasure to work with you both. Your craft is a gift to all you touch and encounter. All love, always! Claudia & Jared “
