Film engagement photographer

Are you engaged or soon to be? We love that for you. But you don’t need to rent a picnic setup or twirl in a field of tall grass to prove it. We’re a Boston engagement photographer and filmmaker team shooting exclusively on 35mm, 120, instant film, and motion film (Super 8 + 16mm, if your heart desires lol). Count us in if making pancakes in your underwear, walking your dog through your neighborhood, or just vibing through one of those weirdly transitional life seasons, sounds perfect to you both. No fake laughing. No pretending you're someone you're not. Just you two being exactly as chaotic, soft, awkward, or in love as you are... and getting it all on film before the next chapter starts.

These are for the folks craving something a little different: a weekend road trip, a city you haven’t explored together in a while, or a quiet cabin in the woods. Maybe we’re capturing the proposal you’ve been planning for months, or maybe it’s just time to make some damn good art out of the way you love each other. We’ll pack up our cameras, hit the road, and co-create a session that feels like it belongs to your story. From bonfires on the beach to brownstone stoops in Brooklyn, if we can drive there and back in a day, we’re in.

Whether it’s home for you or somewhere new for all of us, we love documenting couples in places that mean something. We’ve photographed sessions in Miami, California, Québec, Thailand, and beyond. Sometimes we’re meeting you in your hometown, other times we’re all traveling for the sake of adventure. Either way, we’re in. If we’re photographing somewhere neither Javi nor I speak the primary language (outside of English, Spanish, or French), we like to collaborate with a planner or point person who knows the area and speaks the language. It keeps everything smooth and lets us stay fully focused on telling your story 100% on film.

No two sessions are ever the same. Sometimes we start in someone’s living room and end up chasing light across a bookstore floor. Other times it’s just walking the same streets they always walk, only now, with cameras and a little more intention. The REAL couples featured here didn’t show up with a checklist. They showed up as themselves. And that’s what made the photos good.

Do you photograph couples who aren’t engaged yet?

Absolutely. Proposals, dating anniversaries, “just because we’re in love” sessions:  we love it all.

how long on average, do Engagements / couples sessions take you to document?

We typically spend around 2 hours documenting engagements, proposals, and couples sessions but we’re firm believers that there are no hard rules. Every couple is different, and we’ll work with you to co-create a timeline that feels true to your vision. 

is your pricing firm? 

Yep!

Do you shoot anything on digital for Engagements / couples sessions

Nope. Film only, baby.

will you help us with locations? 

Yes! We actually take the time to really get to know both of you and what you are envisioning for your session. I'll draft up a custom location proposal made literally just for you! This is all done after you book with us. Proposals will not be sent out without a signed contract and a second online call to brainstorm together.


Every session is a little different, because every relationship is. Some couples want to revisit the ramen shop where they had their first date. Others want to surprise their partner with a proposal in the public gardens or take a ferry to their favorite beach town. We've had couples cook together in their apartment, browse vintage stores in Central Square, or walk the same trail where they first kissed.

No matter what it looks like, we’ll help plan something that feels personal to you both, and shoot the whole thing on film. Our sessions are laid-back, full of laughter, and often feel more like a date than a photo shoot.
