Shawna and Justin’s Summer wedding at Long Hill in Massachusetts was something out of a fairytale and we were so honored to be able to capture this day for them. These two had such unique traditions and special touches throughout their day that we had never seen before. It’s impossible to capture every single precious moment in this one blog, but we’ll do our best to share of favorite parts of Justin and Shawna’s day. Long Hill: A Stunning Wonderland

WE ARE IN LOVE WITH THIS VENUE!! As soon as we step foot onto Long Hill Property we felt like we had been transported into the gardens of Alice and Wonderland. I know all the guests were absolutely in awe too, I would go back to this venue in a heartbeat! It had one of the most beautiful wedding suites we had seen in a LONG time and all the unique wallpaper papers were such a fun way to add character to all the rooms. 

Long hill is nestled in the heart of Massachusetts with historic buildings from the 1900s. With over 100 acres this venue has so much potential to bring every couple’s wedding to life. Dreaming of dancing the night away under the stars, they’ve got that. Or maybe you want a more intimate affair under the pavilion gazebo? They’ve got that too! All About Shawna & Justin

Shawna and Justin originally met in Highschool when he was a senior and she was a junior, and even went to prom together! Once they went off to college they went their separate ways but, only for a while. They re-connected later in life when Shawna was in graduate school and have been inseparable ever since. They shared one of their favorite ways to show affection for one another and it was too sweet not to share with you guys! “We have a special hand squeeze when we are holding hands. Three squeezes is “I love you” and then the second person squeezes four for “I love you more”. SO CUTE.

Shawna and Justin let us know that we had captured their day so perfectly and were so grateful to have met us both. They also had gotten so many compliments about our professionalism and work. We are also so happy to have crossed paths with them and to photograph their special day!

A Penny for Luck

Shawna honored a heartwarming family tradition by placing a penny in her shoe. This tradition rooted in Scotland, symbolized luck and prosperity. We even captured a photo, where her father holds a note explaining the significance of this special gesture. The penny was from the year her parents were married that her mother wore in her shoe on her own wedding day. She had kept it all this time so all three of her daughters could continue on the tradition.

Family Keepsakes

Justin showcased his love for family by wearing wedding rings passed down from both of his grandfathers and his dad. The most touching part was the blue ring, a gift from his maternal grandfather who has sadly passed away. It was a meaningful way for him to have his loved ones who had passed close to him on his wedding day.

Walking Down The Aisle with Love

When Shawna walked down the aisle she decided to have both of her parents by her side. She wanted to honor both her parents for all they had done for her in her life before this moment. I love it when my couples opt for this instead of just their father or father figure sending them off. It was a beautiful testament to the profound love and gratitude she holds for her parents.

Capturing the Magic:

The true magic for Justin and Shawna’s wedding day was shot on film, in total we shot 8 rolls and are OBSESSED with them all! This is what we shot for them in ​​black and white we used CineStill BwXX. As for color we used Porta 400, Ektachrome, expired Fuji Centura. The Film cameras we used were Contax G2 & Canon V1. We were to capture all the candid and authentic moments that Justin and Shawna had been hoping for!
