dear rachel and dani,

When you two first reached out to me I was already excited but I got even more excited as I got to know more about both of you! I mean how epic is it that their proposal was done not with a ring but with a drop-dead gorgeous dagger?! It was a privilege to have the opportunity to photograph your courthouse wedding here in the states before your epic elopement adventure in Scotland. I also had a blast getting to know both of your moms who are by far two of the sweetest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I’m so glad they could both fly out and witness this day and share it with you both. Thank you for also introducing me to your two adorable fur babies. A major takeaway from this shoot: ALWAYS pack a lint roller in my camera bag.

Rachel and Dani had their ceremony under the oldest tree in Belmont dating back over 300 years in age! Some others long before us had decided to immortalize their love in the tree forever by carving their initials into the bark. While their decision might have been questionable, we all thought it added some character to the tree.

I’m certain that Dani’s dad was with us on July 15th in spirit. We had his barrette, the photo of him on a coaster that always is in Dani’s mom’s purse, a very cute plushie of the family dog, and some other family photos to celebrate his life and memory.
