Providence, Rhode Island
We have a calm and simplistic elopement for you today, perfect for all those couples who want a very low-key affair for their wedding day. Referred by their friends Paige and Quinten, we shot their wedding in 2023. Renee and John, decided to tie the knot at Providence City Hall in Rhode Island. And let us tell you, it was a day filled with simplicity, family, and tons of gorgeous photos. Now, here’s the deal. Renee’s family hails from Providence, so it was only fitting for them to exchange their vows at the iconic City Hall. They craved a wedding that was uncomplicated and simple and that’s exactly what they planned and got. They actually only inquired with us about 6 weeks before the big day and luckily we were available for the job!
Setting The Scene At Providence City Hall
Their vision for the day? Family, baby! John and Renee didn’t even want a wedding, but just a day to celebrate this moment with both of their families. They wanted to capture all those special moments with their loved ones, making it a huge focus of their day. And let us tell you, we were all about it. They rented a gorgeous room in City Hall where the couple would say their “I dos, ” surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Providence City Hall is absolutely gorgeous, with huge ceilings and dark wood walls that pop, making the photos stunning. With Just 12 guests in attendance, it was intimate, it was quick, and it was exactly what they wanted.
A Short & Sweet Ceremony With Family
Now, let’s talk about the ceremony itself. It was short, sweet, and officiated by none other than John’s brother. Surrounded by their loved ones, they said I do! We always ask our couples to practice dancing, because it’s the perfect prompt to get super sweet and candid photos. They are always some of my favorite images from the day. And guess what song this adorable pair chose? A tune from the Goofy Movie! Unique? Oh, absolutely. And it was one of the most adorable things i’ve ever seen during one of my elopements, we loved it!
Strolling Through History
Even though this was a quick elopement the fun didn’t stop at the courthouse. After the ceremony, we took a little wander through Historic Providence. The cobblestone streets and picturesque historical houses provided the most romantic backdrop for Renee and John’s couples’ photos. We didn’t spend a ton of time taking photos of just these two, but I wanted to make sure they had some to look back on. We had a lot of fun walking through the beautiful streets before parting ways.
Low Key Celebrations + Bonding With Renee & John
We had a great day photographing John and Renee’s simple Providence elopement. We instantly bonded with Renee and John over something near and dear to our hearts – tuxedo cats! Our cat, Tux, is a tuxedo cat, so when they told us about their tuxedo cat we all light up! It’s those little connections that remind us that fate sometimes aligns the stars just right when finding the perfect couples to work with. We couldn’t help but fall head over heels for this couple who share our love for some feline companions.
So, in true low-key fashion, this awesome duo decided to forgo the grand reception and opted for a delicious meal instead. And can you guess what we did next? We happily hopped in the car and drove them to their reservation! Because that’s what we do, babes. We go above and beyond to ensure our couples have the most extraordinary experience possible.
