Big fat Greek wedding shot entirely on film? You know we were giddy with excitement when Christina and Christian’s wedding rolled around this past October. From the stunning ceremony at St. George Greek Orthodox Church to the party filled reception at The Steven’s Estate at Osgood Hill, this wedding was one we will always remember. These two lovebirds, knew exactly what they wanted for their special day. They weren’t just looking for any old photographer; no, they wanted a team that understood them, their vision, and their story. I am happy to say we delivered and helped them bring the vision for their Greek wedding to life with film photography. There were so so many incredible moments we captured for them and these photographs just a small example of that. We shot over 1,500 photos for them because we dont skimp when it comes to film and all the small moments that matter.

Choosing who is going to photograph one of the most important days of your life is no easy task. Christina knew when she started planning her wedding she was looking for a specific photographer. She wanted an experienced professional who could bring her ideas to life and also put her and Christian at ease in front of the camera. After discovering us in a Facebook group and stalking our Instagram, she reached out, and we hopped on a video call to discuss all the details. We knew pretty quickly we would be a good fit for one another. They wanted to create magic with a team that understood their vibe, and that’s exactly what they found in us.

Now, let’s rewind to how it all began. Christian and Christina met at The Burren in Davis Square, all thanks to a mutual friend’s sneaky setup. Christina, finding Christian to be handsome, quiet, and funny, and Christian, seeing Christina as loud, funny, and pretty, hit it off instantly. From Painted Burro dates to adventures in Iceland, their love story unfolded beautifully.

A Match Made In Heaven

Their relationship, built on open communication, nightly kisses, and shared laughter, has weathered seven years and is only getting stronger. Despite their contrasting personalities—Christina’s lively and impulsive nature and Christian’s calm and collected demeanor—their dynamic feels like the most natural balance in the world. Moving in together solidified their bond, leading to a proposal that was long overdue, according to Christian.

“I truly could not have picked a better duo to photograph my wedding. Now, don’t get me wrong- a wedding is about two people and making all the important decisions together. But when you’ve been with your partner for as long as we were, I dove headfirst into wedding planning without a clue as to who I could trust to capture our special day. I browsed all wedding websites and actually stumbled upon Dominque and Javi in a random Facebook group where someone recommended them. After perusing their Instagram I knew I had to reach out. I wasn’t sure what to expect when we set up a video call to discuss their work and my wedding vision. In today’s world- a lot of people are trying to become photographers and I think that’s great, but I couldn’t trust a new comer to really capture what I envisioned. From our first interaction, Dominque was the type of professional that just gets you and puts you at ease. When we met in person for our engagement shoot- which because of my excessive indecisiveness and inability to commit to a location took a while to plan- I knew I’d love any and every picture the pair took. Dominque is able to direct your movements into effortless appearing poses. She understands the bigger picture and the vibe, while Javi secretly catches the sweet innocent moments you’d never expect to grab your heart in a tight squeeze when you see them. Now- for the major event. The culmination of planning, meetings, texts, and anxiety of how will we look in pictures on our big day? I’m a social, loud, love to take pictures kind of girl while my husband would rather battle a python than pose for a picture. But oh my god did Javi and Dominque capture the perfect shots while us not even realizing they were there. They knew when to click- when to hold- and I heard “I ROLLED OUT” so much I started getting excited each time. For two people to care so much about getting the perfect shot for people they’ve only met in person once speaks volumes. They put their hearts and souls into this work and I can see it’s truly a passion of theirs. They have talents some people will never have and they value it. They know as well as anyone that you could pick any of the dozens of photographers your friends have used but you won’t get the same heart, energy and genuine joy that they bring on your big day. I would recommend them every day until I hear they retire. I hope for more exciting life events that they’ll be able to shoot. I know I will always look at my wedding photos and remember how happy I was, but also how incredible the people who were behind the lens were. How they cared so much about every detail- almost as much as we did. I am forever thankful for the wonderful moments that I can look back on.
