A romantic and candid 35mm film photograph capturing a newlywed couple at a classic Boston Frosty ice cream truck. The bride, in an elegant gown, and the groom, in a suit, share a lighthearted moment as they order treats together. The soft, nostalgic tones of film enhance the charm and intimacy of the scene, perfect for couples seeking a timeless and artistic wedding photographer to document their unique love story.

October 26th, 2024

Boston, Massachusetts

We had the honor of photographing a magical Boston wedding that was unique, intimate, and oh-so special. So, picture this: the date was October 26th, and the stars of the day were the adorable couple, Rex and Steph. You may remember these two from their iconic engagement session from a few months back with a visit to their favorite pho restaurant! These two lovebirds said “I do” at the stunning Arnold Arboretum, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the warm embrace of their nearest and dearest.

Getting Ready For A Boston Wedding

The bride and groom got ready at their hotel before heading down to the Trolley with their families and close friends to head to the ceremony location. Rex and Steph, along with both their mom’s, wore traditional Hanbok to honor Steph’s Korean culture.

Intimate Wedding Ceremony At The Arnold Arboretum

I had suggested the Arnold Arboretum for their ceremony for two reasons: it’s absolutely beautiful and absolutely free! You can’t make a reservation though, so we knew we wanted to get there earlier in the afternoon to snag the top of Peter’s Hill for them to say I do at. Steph and Rex made the ceremony optional for their guests and were totally fine with having them at the reception later that day. They would have been over the moon with just their families witnessing their commitment. But all their 73 guests wanted to attend the ceremony as well!

More Korean traditions were sprinkled into the ceremony with a pyebaek ceremony, where the couple bows to the ground for each of their parents. This wedding tradition honors the couple’s commitment to their families and celebrates the unity of the newlyweds and their families together. Their cutie pup was the ring bearer who also made a guest appearance during their engagament session.

Off To Change & Celebrate

After the ceremony, Rex and Steph headed back to the Boston Trolley to change before the reception. Not before celebrating and cheering with some drinks on the ride back. Everyone was so excited and happy for them and the party was just getting started. Steph changed into a gorgeous white satin gown with an open back, while Rex sported a classic black suit, keeping it casual with no tie.

Strollin’ Through Boston In Style

We opted to walk to the ceremony as it was close by and I’m so glad we did! These photos of the newlyweds strolling through Boston are some of my favorites. We got some beautiful light shining through the fall tones and falling leaves, so we stopped for a few photos before finally arriving at the ceremony location.

Featured In The Boston Globe

We are so honored and excited to have our work feautured in The Boston Globe for Steph and Rex’s wedding. Make sure to go show it some love here and learn even more about this special couple.

Wedding Ceremony At Terra in Eataly In Boston

We arrived at Terra in Eataly and were greeted with all Steph and Rex’s loved ones. Terra was the perfect spot in Boston, they served shared plates and had a delicious pasta station and yummy signature cocktails. Of course, they had to stop at the frosty truck for a sweet treat after dinner. I LOVED the polaroid guest book because obvi, you know my obsession with polaroids. The reception continued with speeches and then the real party began as everyone danced the night away, celebrating Steph and Rex.

Boston Wedding On Film

The best part: the whole day was captured on film because, let’s be real, there’s something so timeless and captivating about that analog magic. Like flipping through your grandparents’ wedding album, rich tones, radiant colors, and authentic moments pop out at you. Rex and Steph’s love story was beautifully preserved on film, creating those candid and authentic moments that they will cherish forever. And the cherry on top? We even got some amazing polaroids for them throughout the day, just an extra touch we love to add to for our clients.
