We had the absolute best time exploring South End Boston with KC and Evan for their romantic golden hour engagement photo session! We visited some of their favorite spots like South End Buttery, Delux Cafe, and even the first apartment they shared. Keep reading for the best engagement photo locations in South End Boston!

The Couple

KC and Evan first met in high school! They grew up spending tons of time on Block Island, where both of their families had homes. Both of their families are extremely supportive in their relationship, and they’re so grateful to have their love and support as they move into this next chapter together! Evan proposed there on Block Island because of how special it is to the two of them! Both KC and Evan love to be outdoors and some of their favorite hobbies together are skiing and hiking. KC has always wanted to try scuba diving, and Evan would love to go canyoning! They are seriously so adventurous and fun! Their Goldendoodle Charlie is just the cutest thing (and their #1 obsession—rightfully so!), and we’re so glad they brought him along for the South End engagement photo session! We absolutely can’t wait for their wedding in December!

We met on the most dreamy October day for KC and Evan’s South End engagement photo session! The weather was perfectly crisp and the autumn leaves were at their peak colors. For their Boston engagement photos, we explored their favorite spots in South End Boston. We started with coffee at South End Buttery and had so much fun laughing and taking things slow and easy. Then, we stopped by their first-ever apartment together for a couple of photos, too! We had so much fun popping champagne on a random parking lot rooftop, but we actually got kicked off by a super friendly security guard! Definitely worth asking for forgiveness instead of permission and so happy we got to capture these photos before getting kicked out! Then, we ended up at Delux Cafe for some fun nighttime shots! It was seriously the best day, and KC and Evan are such a fabulous couple!

“We can not say enough about Dominique and Javi and their work! Booking Castillo-Holliday Photo & Film was the best decision we made in the wedding planning process. They are true artists and we feel so lucky to have found them to capture our day. After our discovery call, I knew that Dominique would be the best choice out of everyone else we were talking to, because she had such a fun and engaging personality while also being professional. It was very important to me to find a photographer who would be comfortable directing the day (including coordinating with the vendors, keeping us on schedule, and directing our parents and wedding party) so that we wouldn’t have to worry about anything on the wedding day. We made the right choice!
They were extremely responsive to emails and were more than happy to meet with us to discuss anything that came up outside of our standard planning meetings. Dominique even traveled, on her own time, to visit our venue ahead of the wedding since she hadn’t photographed there before. Even though we booked a very popular & highly photographed wedding venue, she and Javi were determined to get unique photos in locations and perspectives that I haven’t seen for our venue before.
She knew (and remembered) every detail that we wanted captured, and my bridesmaids were very impressed with how much she knew about us as a couple and about every detail of the day. A few weeks before the wedding, I sent her a collection of inspiration photos for the vibe we were going for – the photos we got back could not have been more spot on!
I spent the whole wedding planning process reminding myself that I can’t compare photos from our “regular” wedding to the styled shoots and ultra-expensive weddings I see in Pinterest and Instagram posts… but now, after seeing our wedding photos, I look at Instagram and Pinterest and (I know I’m biased but) I find myself thinking those photos don’t look as good as ours!”
